or sale. $800 or best offer. Here is a restored and stunning 60’s era Slingerland players kit (20-13-16). These are classic Slingerland 3 ply shells. I have lovingly restored this kit over the last year, stripping old adhesive and paint, conditioning the shells, repairing re-ring separation, procuring and polishing era correct and repro hardware, and rewrapping in NOS Silver Glass Delmar wrap purchased  from Slingerland in the 90’s. The wrap is tight and sparkles brilliantly. The shells are in good condition, but have their share of imperfections, and sound great. The hardware all functions correctly. See below for details.

The 13x9 tom is a mahogany-poplar-maple shell, likely mid to late 60s. Shell had two extra holes which have been plugged with dowels and are hidden beneath the tom mount inside the shell. Bearing edges are smooth with a few minor rough areas. Heads rotate freely and drum tunes nicely. Slingerland hoops, sound king lugs, tension rods, mount, and muffler. Badge is not original to the drum but is a an era correct mid-late 60’s brass and black Niles badge added by me. Grommet is a Slingerland repro purchased from Chicago Drums and is tight. Inner Shell has splotches of remnant stain from previous owner.

The 16x16 tom is a maple-poplar-mahogany shell, likely late 50’s to early 60’s. No badge. No extra holes. Bearing edges are smooth, heads rotate freely and drum tunes nicely. Slingerland hoops, sound king lugs, tension rods, mount, and muffler.

The 20x14 bass drum is a mahogany-poplar-maple shell with a factory original “chocolate milk” painted interior. This paint dates the drum to ‘66-71. The badge is not original to the drum but is a an era correct mid-late 60’s brass and black Niles badge added by me. Grommet is a Slingerland repro purchased from Chicago Drums and is tight. The set-o-matic tom holder is a faithful reproduction of Slingerlands original holder, made by and purchased from Steve Maxwell Drums. The set-o-matic receiver plate is an original Slingerland plate. Era correct Slingerland Sound King lugs, tension rods, and bass drum spurs and brackets. All function perfectly. Inner ply has some separation (pictured) beneath the re-ring. This is common and does not affect the integrity or sound of the shell. Bearing edges are mostly smooth. Heads spin freely. Front head is an original Slingerland resonant head with logo. Front hoop was purchased from Chicago drums. Back hoop is original Slingerland with inlay added by me.
